All pyramids with tombs were build at the west bank of the Nile, because the Nile was important for the afterlife and because the sunset in the west symbolizing death. The Nile was the most important thing about ancient Egypt; this is how Egyptians became good at farming and catching food. So many people lived near the Nile.

Gods and Goddess

Amen is one of ancient Egypt goddess. Amen means The Hidden One. Amen was a patron deity, of Thebes the city from early times. Amens appeared to be the protector of any pious devotee in need of help. Amen was created by a god called Thoth. Anubis was the god of the dead, Anubis is known as a black jackal or dog. Anubis was made a god of the dead by Osiris. The Black head of Anubis represents colour of human corps after they went through the embalming process. Anubis was a conduter of souls. He weighs hearts for good deeds. Bast was a cat goddess; she was the goddess of home and domestic cats. Bast had a human body and a cats head. In he delta region at her sanctuary a necropolis had been found containing mummified cats. Bes was a dwarf god, who guarded against evil sprits & misfortune. Bes was an ugly god but this was how he scared evil sprits away. Khons was the god of the moon; he lost some of his light to Thoth in a game. Dua represents a mummified man with the head of a jackal; he was the protecter of the stomach. Geb was the god of Earth; Geb was normally lying on the ground wearing the crown of lower Egypt. The laughter of Geb caused earthquakes. Hathor was a cow goddess; her image could have been used for the columns in Egyptians architecture. In different regions of Egypt she was known to have supported something else. Isis was the god of the dead and funeral rites; she also helped Pharaohs so she was known has a mother god. Ka is the god of vital force of life.

Maat was the goddess of truth and justice. She would sit in judgement of souls of the dead in the underworld. Min was the god of fertility. He was depicted as a human that has an erect penis; he was god of male sexuality. Pharaohs would pray to Min to have a male for heir. Mut was a mother of Khons. Nephthys was a goddess of the dead. She was the sister of Isis, Osiris and Seth. Nut was the goddess of the sky and heavens, Nut was depicted as a women. Nut is a barrier of separating chaos forces. When the Pharaoh dies, he is said to enter Nut's body for resurrection. Osiris was the god of the underworld and vegetation; he was depicted in a human wrapped as a mummy. He had green skin marked as a vegetation god. He holds a crook and flail. Osiris was murdered by Seth, but found by Isis. He is the ruler of the underworld for ancient Egypt. Qetesh was a goddess of love and beauty; she was depicted as a beautiful nude woman. Re was the god of the sun and creator. He was depicted as a human with a falcon head. He traverses the sky. Selket is scorpion goddess; she helps people that have been bitten by scorpions. She also helped Isis from Set. Shu is a god of the air and supporter of the sky. He held up the sky. Sobek is a crocodile god; he takes form of a crocodile of human with a head of a crocodile. He helps from preventing Set's destruction. Taweret was a hippopotamus goddess and protector of deity child birth, she had a ugly appearance to frighten of any sprits. Thoth was a god of the moon, he was also a god of wisdom, and he took form of a human with an ibis head. He helps Horus and Isis. Set was the god of chaos; he formed as a human with an origin head. Set started a war with Horus witch lasted eight years. Wepwawet is a jackal god, he tokk form as a jackal or a human with a jackal head. Wepwawet had a role has a god or war.

Writing

The Egyptian's writings are symbols called hieroglyphics. There writing has twenty-four symbols of the alphabet. Vowels of hieroglyphics weren't written out; the hieroglyphics writing was either carved or painted out. The hieroglyphics writings were also used on Monuments. The hieroglyphics writing had a simplified form called hieratic. Hieratic could written rapidly, they used light materials such as papyrus and leather, for hieratic to be written on. The writing of ancient Egypt was known to be the words of the god. The Egyptians believed that Thoth, (a god of wisdom) invented there writing. School children learned hieroglyphics by translating the writing on the Rosetta stone. In Egyptians writing the word Pharaoh originally meant great house, but in 1300BC it meant the ruler of Egypt. Scribes taught boys how to write on papyrus. The eraser was made out of palette and a piece of cloth, the scribe would use a palette to hold paints and then tied a piece of cloth to it, to make an eraser. Boys who finish school become clerks, letter writers or paymaster in the government.
