Bacon's Rebellion

Bacon's Rebellion was when the governor tried to stop a man named Nathaniel Bacon from taking the Indians' land.

Bacon didn't like associating with the Indians. He attacked some friendly ones and the government tried to stop him. It ended up with Bacon and his followers rebelling and burning Jamestown

As the population of America grew, so did the farms and plantations. The colonial officials decided to ask for more taxes. Many of the poor colonists didn't like this and they also didn't like how the officials traded with the Indians. They felt that they were not safe from attack. A group of former indentured servants led by Nathaniel Bacon started to attack some friendly Indians. He thought that the colonists should be able to take their land. The government tried to stop him, but he and his group of friends rebelled and they burned down Jamestown. The rebellion ended when Bacon died of fever.

I think that Bacon was mad (in the mental sense.)H Just because the taxes were raised, doesn't mean you should go and disturb the Indians. The Indians were there first anyway. And why did they have to burn down Jamestown? It wasn't the people's fault either. Because of his madness, a lot of people were killed and it nothing was really solved.
