On the 23rd of September a certain lovely four year old kid got stabbed to death in the streets of London by unknown person or persons. His 14 year old sister only fared better because she barely survived the attack.
According to official statistics in 2007 alone, eight teenagers have lost their lives not in the hands of suicide bombers or Al Qaeda but from shootings perpetuated by fellow citizens. Britain is under siege and the attackers are not Arab terrorists.
Yes Britain is under siege from guns and knives placed in the hands of kids and youths by a very permissive society. It is not only guns, but knives as well. According to statistics out of the 25 violent teenager deaths in Britain in 2007, 17 have been stabbings.
Is somebody weeping for that society? We should not allow our permissive nature to cause us to wave away this dangerous trend. Britain is under siege and it is dangerous for the future of our nation.
Something is sure wrong with the so called civilized societies of the developed world. Agreed the developed countries of the world have reached an unprecedented height in terms of technological sophistication and advancement. Indeed corruption, poverty and degradation are not rife like what operates in the third world countries of the world. But pause to think for a moment. You would have thought that with all of this sophistication and advancement why there is a lack of appreciation for the lives of fellow citizens.
The latest stabbing of 4 year old Ryan Hawkins sparked worry, anger and fear inside me. It provoked questions inside me. It sparked worry because I had a vision to send my two kids (one 4, the other 2years old) to school in England. Now I am not sure anymore. I ask again: Is Britain under siege?
What is the root of this seeming unabated problem? Has anyone asked? I think we should lay the blame at the feet of the adults. Most of these killings were kids shooting kids or youths stabbing youths. I think the adults have failed the ones they call the future generation. I believe parents have failed in their God given responsibility as stewards of the children He has blessed them with. I think the leaders have failed the people on this one.
Britain is fighting wars all over the Middle East and has exposed their backside to attack from within. Something needs to be done and quickly too. Or else we are going to discover that we have succeeded in carelessly breeding gangsters some of whom will end up as leaders of the country (if they live long enough).
Why would a kid hurt a fellow kid and for what purpose? Anybody that has kids of their own or has ever been around kids knows that kids are the most forgiving humans around. Kids settle their differences and forgive faster than many adults. Kids know how to love better than most adults. No wonder God Himself declared that except we become like little children we will not enter the kingdom of God. Britain, beware for Britain is under siege.
How can we live in such a developed society yet be so cannibalistic. I thought it was only in Africa that they cut up fellow humans (especially white folks) and eat them for supper. Britain is sure under siege if you ask me. Now not only does Britain have an enemy without to contend with but we also have an enemy within to contend with. The enemy within is more dangerous.
Britain is under siege from her own kids, teenagers and youths some of whom are barely old enough to bathe themselves, yet are “old” enough to carry guns and knives and have enough courage to use the weapons to take life of fellow kids.
I hope Britain is doing something about this evil. I hope and pray it stops. I hope we never get to a time where we hear of our kids shooting or stabbing their parents or teachers to death. I don't pretend to have all the answers but one sure way out of this quagmire Britain has found herself is to return to God because only Jesus saves.
