John A. Macdonald
- Born on January 11, 1815, in Glasgow, Scotland.
- Leader of the Liberal - Conservative party.
- Was in favor of Confederation.
- After the failure of his fathers business ventures, his family emigrated to Kingston, Upper Canada in 1820.
- Was first elected to legislature in 1848.
- Was the leader of both the Quebec and London conference .
Thomas D'Arcy McGee
- Was in favor of confederation.
- Was a member of Le Part: bleu for Canada East (Conservatives).
- Was born on April 13, 1825, in Carling.
- Was an accomplished writer and poet.
- Was first elected to legislative assembly of Canada in 1858 .
George Brown
- Was the leader of the Reform Party (Clear Grit Party).
- Was in favour of confederation.
- Was born in Scotland.
- Moved to Toronto in 1843.
