From the past forty years there are many natural disasters occurred in many countries around the world. Most of them are very deadly where it took lives of many people.
One of the deadliest natural disasters that happened forty years ago is the earthquake. Recently, china was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Sichuan province where lives of innocent people were stolen.
Let's have a glimpse of the deadliest earthquakes for the past forty years.
July 1976- an 8.2 magnitude earthquake shook the people of Northeastern part of China and there are 240,000 persons died.
June 1990- the Northwestern Iran experienced a 7.7 magnitude which kills 50,000.
August 1999- 17,000 people died of a 7.4 magnitude in Western Turkey.
December 2003- Southern Iran lost 26,000 people because of a 6.5 magnitude earthquake.
December 2004- do you still remember the tsunami in the Indian Ocean? There are 230,000 people died in several countries from that incident. The 9.0 magnitude earthquake cased that big tsunami. And that is the strongest earthquake above the rest since 1976.
October 2005- people in Northern Pakistan experienced a 7.6 magnitude and killed 78,000 Pakistani, and lastly;
May 2008- Sichuan a province in China, Many people is still in grief from the incident. Many lives were destroyed, and many dreams were ruined. There are families that are being separated by faith.
We know we cannot turn the hands of time. We can't bring back the lives of those people who died from the quake. All that we can do now is pray for their beloved ones to be in peace and also for the bereaved families to get through it.
