The Great Depression was a time of economic hardship for many people who lived during that time. Through many struggles there were ways to enjoy life while waiting for the end of the trials of life. These included an increase in many forms of entertainment, many which developed into what we now appreciate in life.
Music was important during the Great Depression. With the radio having been invented around that time, more people were spending time together while enjoying their favorite songs. Many people could have related to the music as the music was about hardship, with the hope that the future would be better. The music of this time period also continues to inspire many musicians of modern day music.
Movies, were one of the newest inventions of the Great Depression. Many technological advances improved the quality of the movies that were being produced at the time. A trip to the movies was a common way for many families to forget about the troubles of living during the Great Depression.
