General William T. Sherman showed the attitude of confidence because it took a lot of work to lead a ton of men to battle. He suffered two slight wounds on his leg from the two day battle in west Tennessee and had two horses shot from underneath him. It also took a lot of confidence to go to war, and to fight. William T. Sherman was not afraid but strong and brave to go to war.
If William Tecumseh Sherman did not win the battle in Atlanta then Abraham Lincoln probably would not have been reelected. General Sherman never gave up and lived by his own words saying “War, like thunderbolt, follows its laws and turns not aside even if the beautiful the virtuous and the charitable stand in its path”.
