I agree with pro imperialists on the idea of expansionism. If we had only kept our influences in the USA not only would we have been poorer, but other countries would have been more likely to attack us because we aren’t supplying them with anything. If we supply other countries with supplies they will not want to attack us and risk losing the supplies.
One hundred years ahead of time we can see it was a smart move, but back then they weren’t to sure. They thought the mixture of races could be a bad idea, it wasn’t. All the negative feelings towards other races have changed. Another smart move was securing naval bases all over the world. This smart move has helped us to create the strongest navy in the world. It helped us to get much richer. We created so many unique, new inventions that we just needed to give the rest of the world, and that got us more money into our economy. Some of the smaller countries were influenced in religion. We spread the Christian and Protestant faiths to these countries.
In conclusion they may not have been able to see all the good that would have come out of it one hundred years ago, but they probably knew that some of these things could happen so they went after it. That’s what got us here today as a world power.
