This morning someone mentioned that history is one of my favorite topics. This is a moment to share share what history can do for as because it is about the past, the present and the future. The United States of America privilege history as a sine qua non.
This means that you must know your history and not ignore history. One of the example is Charles Darwin, the theorist of evolution. This is a theory which has been challenged by other theories which are functionalism, structuralism and Marxism.
There are four theories in total. Charles Darwins thinks that genetics are important and for example a child with blue eye will give a child who has blue eyes at the fourth generation if he is not born with them. This is interesting because it means that we all have in us the genes of our ancestors. History has been a major issue in America especially in the early eighties when the black American where searching for their origins. The famous film Roots which was adapted from a book showed the origins of black Americans from West Africa.
There is a place in Senegal called Goa where Africans used to board boats to go to the new world which is America. in the seventeenth century there was a war in the South of the United States in the big plantations. The black Americans wanted to go to the north to work in factories. in the nineteenth century there were many settlers who where able to travel thanks to the revolution of the steam engine. Boats were able to carry many people around the world. This is how many industries were created. That can explain also the problems between black Americans on the plantations and those working in factories.
The Americans working in factories began with the the industrial revolution. The Indian Ocean especially Madagascar, Mayotte, Australia and New Zealand as well as South Africa have provided labor to work in the factories. There are populations from Angola for example where the currency is Kwanzaa like the Black American holiday who went to the Indian Coast, probably on the Isle of Zanzibar to come with Stanley and David Livingstone. Stanley was an reporter for the National Geographic Society and David Livingstone was an explorer, solicitor and barrister. What is good about Zanzibar is the commerce of clove. Therefore, history is an important element to understand what we have to do about our present life. For, instance there are some produce like clove which must be developed.
The future is to reconcile agriculture and industry this also divided the world between the East and the West. Agriculturalists have been often despised. For instance, potatoes where transformed in alcohol beverage mostly whereas it is food and it happened in Poland where the headquarters of the COMECON the headquarters of the KGB were. There are countries in the world that have suffered of hunger because of that like Russia. Alcoholism is very dangerous because it can affect the fetus. Each person can decide if he or she wants to be an agriculturalists but to work in industry it is another problem especially because of air conditioning, it can be very hot and of the dangerous hazardous. There are those who think that gymnastics can lead to physical strength and I think it is an abuse of power. Physical exercises are in fact done to maintain the body and the mind. That is how life is.
