Change is something that can not be avoided or stalled. It's something that just happens and whether you like it or not, there will continue to be change in our society. A revolution is a dramatic change in ideas or practice. An example of one can be the overthrowing of a government or it can be a change in the laws. There are also some revolutions that have gone out of hand. Bloodshed, rampages, and death sentences have been some of the end results of these types of revolutions. Examples of revolutions are the English and French revolutions. In this essay, I am going to talk about these 2 revolutions. I will also compare them.
The reasons for why both of these revolutions started are different. The English revolution consists of 3 civil wars. The main cause of the English revolutions was the wrongdoings of Charles the 1st. He was the corrupt King of England. He was always trying to find out ways to make money. He had a very flamboyant lifestyle. Charles was against the parliament, but whenever he would need money he would have to go to the parliament to get it. In 1642, when the first English civil war started it turned out this was all Charles' plan to get the Presbyterians to do war with the Puritans. The Rump Parliament charged him with making war on his own people, when his intentions were exposed. In 1649, Charles was put on trial for treason and he was found guilty and sentenced to death. He was beheaded on a scaffold in the Palace of Whitehall on January 30, 1649.
There are many causes for the French Revolution. The first reason was that there was that the economic situation was not good and that the French government was in debt. Another reason was that there was high unemployment and the bread prices were high causing people to spend more money. There was also a lack of food in the months immediately before the revolution. There were also social and political factors. The people had dislikes toward absolutism, noble privilege and dominance in life. The main cause of the revolution was that Louis XVI and his advisors could not do anything to solve these problems. Basically, because of these problems the people went on a rampage.
