Julius Caesar is one of the most famous figures in History. He was murdered on 15th March 44bc; I want to answer the question “why” was he killed. There are many reasons why this happened.
One reason why Caesar was assassinated was because he had most power. This is important because other people wanted his power. E.g. he was considered a king by the peasants because he gave them some land back that they had lost because of the war.
Another reason for the murder was because the Patricians lost some land. This can be explained because when the Plebeians went to war the land they owned fell into disrepair so they had to sell the land to the Patricians. So Caesar gave them the land back.
Another reason is people were angry about the loss relatives. This is a reason because people love their family and obviously people won't want them dead.
Yet another reason is some people wanted the old republic back. This is a reason because in the republic there was no one person with too much power and they weren't in power long enough to develop a lot of power.
In conclusion, I think the Romans had lots of different views of Caesar. I think this because the Patricians were better off so I think Caesar was right giving people less well off than him something to help them.
