Hot Holiday Trends

Top seven ways to spruce up your holiday season.

  1. Add Some Glitz.

Don't be afraid to add a little sparkle this winter. Whether it's a shimmer lip gloss or 1/4 ct diamond earrings. The key here is not to go overboard.Don't stand out like the wacky neighbor who covers the entire house with tacky lights, think Jack Frost.Hot items include:chunky gold bangle bracelets, metallic pumps and purses,Benefit Cosmetics High Beam face illuminators, and flashy hairpins(I like Goody).

  2. Be Fabulous

When the seasons become drab, girl it's time to get fab. Treat yourself to the finer things. Spa facials, the newest resturant in your area, and don't forget a little R & R.These trends don't have to cost a pretty penny. You can pamper yourself with luxurious products found at the local drug store. But most important of all, let your heart be lite and smile. Attitude is everything.
  3. Shop Online

No more long lines for this DIVA. Most vendors offer free or discounted shipping during the holiday. Take advantage of this time saving delight. Not only can we shop for everyone on the list, but many times find items that are not available locally. The hottest gift this year is personalized experiences. Like a hot air balloon ride for two and even turn table lessons from a real Dj. These gifts are sure to please.
  4. Give

After a large holiday get together, get together all leftovers and drop them at the local soup kitchen. Another way to give is simply removing any items including clothes, shoes, linens, that we don't use and drop them to the Salvation Army. It is a fact that when we do something nice for a stranger our brain releases endorphins. Talk about a natural high, it's not the cookies that make Chris Cringle jolley.
  5. Young at Heart

Just because were all grown up is no reason to stop having clean fun. Play games like Monopoly and Candy Land with children or adults. Another awesome activity is baking sugar cookies. Make a snowman, or have a holiday themed movie night. So get in the spirit! After all holidays are a great reason to let loose and forget the day to day adult drama.
  6. Keep it Fresh

Decorate tables, entry ways, stair wells, anything you like. Using organic materials. Such as fruit, nuts, pine cones, fresh flowers and candles. They add wonderful color as well as atmosphere. But the best part is we can eat them while we celebrate, then recycle the left overs. NO STORAGE REQUIRED. Some creative ideas include adding spray on glitter, and ribbons.
  7. Guilty Pleasures

Don't diet. Many of us watch what we eat and exercise year round. It's time to indulge. Be bad. Eat, drink and be merry.
