Christmas is celebrated on the 25 th December every year. One can make out that Christmas is approaching after seeing all the shops decorated in red and white. Shopping centers get very busy around Christmas time as people do lot of shopping. The shops remain open till late in the night. All the shops and houses are nicely decorated with artificial and shiny decorations.
Christmas is a festival celebrated mainly by Christians and it is celebrated in different ways in different countries.
One can even see several short coniferous trees which are green in color. Not only shops but even homes and offices are decorated by such trees. Several small and catchy decorative pieces are placed on the Christmas tree.
There is a custom of sending Christmas cards too. We also have the concept of Santa Claus and children feel that he comes and distributes the gifts for them.
Children are taught that Santa Claus brings gifts for them one night prior to Christmas. He arrives on a sledge which is pulled by reindeers. Generally, in parties someone dresses up as Santa Claus and distributes gifts to children.
Some people also send Christmas cards to each other distribute sweets and also gift their loved ones. Christmas is a fun and exciting event for children and they have a great time and enjoy Christmas thoroughly.
