A tongue in cheek look at the family members we love but that are a pain in the neck from time to time, especially on holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Big Shot who arrive in a car designed to make everyone else feel small and poor. If they can afford a Lamborghini, that's what it will be.
You didn't invite the kids but they come anyway. They like to handle and break your collectibles, walk (with muddy shoes) on your white couch, spill drinks on your carpet and ignore anything you say to them and no one except you says anything to them.
The aunt who criticizes everything you do from what you are wearing to how you cook your favorite dish. A favorite comment: “Well, I (or some other relative) always did it this way”, as if your way may lead to food poisoning, bad taste or a waste of time.
The one that always asks for a loan he never pays back. Always.
The one who “can't” eat anything you serve. She/he is apparently allergic to air.
The drinker...arrives drunk, stays drunk, leaves drunk.
The one who brings your Christmas gift early, to get you “over with” on his list
The perpetual dieter (usually overweight) counts calories in everything, wallows in guilt over whatever he eats but doesn't reject a doggy bag
The one you catch going through your dresser drawers
The one who gossips about whoever is not there. And finally...
The one who won't leave and hangs around until you ask him to spend the night even though you have work early the next day
