JAPAN
In Japan, women give chocolate to men during Valentine's Day. It is even an obligation for women to give chocolates named as giri-choco (obligation chocolates) to their male co-workers or their bosses. And chocolates named as hon-mei to their sweethearts or men whom they considered special in their lives.

After one month, it's the men's turn to give gifts to women which they call as White Day. Lingerie and jewelry are the common gifts that Japanese men give to women instead of just chocolates and mallows.
PHILIPPINES
Valentine's Day in the Philippines is not just celebrated by a pair or two but rather thousands of couples who gather for the world record of most couples kissing in one event. Lovapalooza is what they call it which started on February 2004. They set the world record with 5327, then 6124 Filipino couples, which was then overtaken by Hungary. Now, Bosnia holds the kissing record with 6980 couples on September 1, 2007.

This upcoming February, the organizers of Lovapalooza and the thousands of Filipino couples will yet again gather to reclaim their world record for most couples kissing in one event.
THAILAND
Unique ways of celebrating Valentine's Day in Thailand are joining the world's largest bride and groom composed of two elephants, the world's largest mass-wedding, and the world's largest underwater wedding. This is to promote traditional Thai wedding ceremonies, food and culture.

ISRAEL
Valentine's Day in modern Israel is a popular day not just to give gifts or presents, not just to pronounce love too, but also for marriage proposals. Men will ask their sweethearts to marry them during Valentine's. Sweet!
CHINA
In modern China, hotels offer Valentine's Day discounts for couples. Not just discounts on room rent but also with promises that they won't ask and check for any marriage certificates on couples who want to rent a room. It is a requirement though for hotels to check on marriage certificates before allowing couples in; but definitely not during Valentine's Day.
OTHER COUNTRIES
Like in Europe and America, it has been a tradition to give cards and gifts such as chocolates and roses during Valentine's Day.
