Christmas is the busiest shopping season of the year. Television networks play a host of Christmas themed shows, while decorations are abundant throughout neighborhoods, malls and town centers. The sights, sounds and smells that arouse our senses during Christmas seem to stay with us our whole lives. Is this what Christmas really about?
Memories of Christmas dinner with friends and family fill our minds and plans for the next family Christmas dinner are already in the making. Ham, turkey or both are served and carved by the head of the family. Presents under the tree wrapped neatly in beautiful Christmas colors and topped with a bow. We savor our Christmas traditions because they provide us with a sense of tradition, family and for many a spiritual connectedness with God, Jesus Christ and the holy spirit.
Christmas is really about love for God and his son, Jesus Christ. The way we show our love to them is by practicing charity, forgiveness and good will towards family, friends and complete strangers. The spirit of love is the spirit of God and his son. Christmas is definitely about love, family and of course, Jesus Christ.
