We are an odd bunch of humans. Who else would create a huge ball of twine - A garage sales that spans more than one state - Being willingly chased by bulls and living in tornado valley?
Then we have those who randomly kill women and children in many lands, battling civil wars. Babies whose bellies are so swollen from starvation. Historical events which would turn our collective stomachs and tear at our souls.
What must God be thinking as He gazes down upon His children whom were created in His image?
Then we have those who give of themselves unselfishly. Reaching out to those in pain. The small miracle workers we so desperately need.
We see people who have survived so many things, against all odds. Those who have fought a good fight to merely hold on to another precious moment here on this planet we call home.
Cancers, viruses, fires, bombs, guns, suicides, murders, rapes, auto accidents, abortions, wars, droughts, hurricanes, earthquakes and old age.
If only we could realize the multitude of healing that love can offer. If each of us reached out to just one in need. Need would be eliminated. If only each of us could be as forgiving towards others as we have been forgiven - then there would be no need for repentance.
Hold the babies that cry out for a mom. Teach the sons who are without a dad. Rear up the little ones, who hold our future, to love and respect all others. To be kind and generous to a fault. To leave greed, hatred, lust, and cruelty behind. Bury them with the dead.
Man should learn not to create wars and value life which women endure such great pain bringing to fruition.
I surely don’t know where we are going - but I do know where we have been.
I want us to laugh till we cry - Sing until are throats are sore - Dance until we drop - Make snow angels in our front yard - Eat cookies before dinner and spoil our appetite, and pray without ceasing.
Loose yourself in a lover’s voice. Hold someone tight as if it’s the last moment you will ever share.
Then skip down the road like you used to when you were a child - and jump in that rain puddle! What are you waiting for?
