Cyber Sex: Acceptable or Unacceptable

We live in a world of technology, and cyber space lives and find it to be completely acceptable to talk to friends, family and even strangers over the vast space of wires and electricity. But have we really come to the point that we can leave the soft touches and caresses of being intertwined with another human being and have that same orgasm by way of dirty talk to a stranger on the other side of the country?

For centuries sex has been a thriving force for men and women alike. Having one night stands with someone you picked up in a bar, paying someone standing on a street corner to have sex, and even having a friend with "benefits" that you can call when you're home alone and feeling horny. None of these are new ideas to us. But having sex online? Now that is a new phenomenon. Is it possible to cure that need with someone hundreds of miles away? Some people would say yes. A friend of mine frequently engages in sex with women online. According to him it is just like having sex with a woman in person. Whether just chatting or by webcam men and women all over the world are being satisfied every night.

Now really this can't be considered sex, but mutual masturbation. Sex, at least in my book, consists of touching and feeling another person, not touching myself while talking to another person. To people like my friend this idea of cyber sex is great, there are no chances of disease, pregnancy, and no matter how bad you look or your "partner" looks it doesn't change a thing. To others like myself, there seems to be no point to it you are missing out on the real fun of sex.

Cyber sex is also a great moneymaker for various websites. Places such as Adult Friend Finder.com, hookemeup.com and passion.com are just a few of the many websites out there making money off of the need to have sex with people online. Very few of these cites are completely free although there are a few, many of them get you to spend money by only giving you limited access, just enough access to make you want the rest of the site.

Cyber sex can be considered a controversial issue because there are so many different opinions on it. So out with human contact? Or in with sex with as many people as you want? You decide how to look at it. Is cyber sex acceptable? Or is it unacceptable?
