Raise your hand if you are Pro-Life-
Now, Raise your hand if you are Pro-Death penalty.
If you find yourself raising your hand for both questions, you my friend are a hypocrite.
The term pro-life means just that, to be for life from creation to natural death. Pro-life is just that, for life, regardless for whom. Period. No matter what the circumstances are. Life is Life. There is not exception to the rule that it only applies to “innocent” lives.
Christians started the Pro-Life movement. Christians believe in the Sanctity and preservation of life until it's natural ending. It was built on the biblical belief that god loves every person from the moment of conception until natural death. They then used it as their argument against the act of abortion, against the 14th amendment right. That was the foundation Pro-Life was built on. You might be sitting there still trying to understand how this is not comparing apples and oranges, but I promise you the death penalty and abortions are in the same category.
The one and only universal pro-life standard that advocates the rights for the innocent, unborn child ALSO advocates that life begins at creation and ends naturally. So you are either for it all or you are not Pro-Life. If you believe in their advocacy, you believe in their purpose. It's not that hard to comprehend. Nothing ever had to be added or taken away for the reasoning behind preservation of a fetus's life to be for the same reason all life should be preserved.
If the fetus's life should be valued because one believes life begins at creation and ends at natural death, then the same ideal must apply to the stance on the Death Penalty. If not, than it is Hypocrisy. Innocence is too debatable in the case of adults to be used as leverage for the Pro-Life/Pro-Death Penalty argument; too much error, as innocent men and women have been executed.
Your argument has no valid basis. But then 14 year old kids from California usually only know what their liberal teachers have told them.
