Homosexuality always has been and always will be a very controversial issue, however, gay activism in recent years drastically changed. It moved on from fighting violent acts of discrimination to propagating gay lifestyle as something natural even desirable ignoring completely the fact that there are many people who disagree with their position.
Then this disagreement is labeled as homophobia, discrimination and intolerance. In increasingly diverse, democratic societies, it is important to keep issues such as religion or sexual orientation as private matters. Government institutions as well as educational system have to stay neutral.
When schools take sides by incorporating in the curriculums only pro gay information, it becomes indoctrination, no different from the one totalitarian regime like Iran practices.
What is a difference between Mahmoud Ahmadinejad using scientific conference to promote his government's anti-Israeli propaganda and our schools teaching one-sided views on homosexuality to the children?
In my opinion, schools should present both sides of the argument, allowing young people to form their own opinion not earlier than in High school. The early introduction of this issue should be left to parents who have just right to raise their children as they deem fit.
