Dear President Bush,
Genocide. The intent to destroy in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group. In Darfur, hundreds of thousands have been killed and around 2,500,000 civilians have been evicted from their homes or had their homes destroyed. I have recently read The Diary of Anne Frank and learned about genocide in other parts of the world.
You need to do something about what is happening in Darfur. You need to go over to Darfur and stop this madness. You need to find a peaceful way of resolving the problem of genocide without starting a war. Also, you should organize a campaign that focuses on raising money for all of the innocent people on Darfur that have lost their homes and personally items to the genocide.
The janjaweed is a group that fights rebel groups in Western Darfur, but most of the time they are killing innocent people from the same ethnic group as the rebels. If they're out to kill rebels against the government than fine, but killing innocent people is inhumane. We need to stop them from killing innocent people and possibly the rebels. The U.S. could help them organize a jail to put the rebels in so innocent people aren't being killed.
Do you realize what is happening over there? Hundreds of thousands of people are being killed and evicted from their homes by the genocide group, janjaweed .For example, a lady named Hadiya Adam Ahmed lived in Chad under a tree where she was shot twice by a Sudanese Soldier. Also, Hidiya Adam Abdullah's husband was taken by the janjaweed when they attacked their village.
Did you know that Darfur is not the only place in African with genocide problems? Several other places are filled with genocide problems, but they are not as severe. If the world doesn't do something now, the genocide problems could get worse and spread to other cities, countries and possibly even continents. I would recommend getting together a type of anti genocide group the focuses on eliminating the groups like the janjaweed and putting a stop to genocide everywhere. You could also take a small group from our army to patrol the areas in Africa where the genocide is the most severe like Darfur.
Even though the people in Darfur have Chad as a safe place to live, they are still being killed there. If we can't stop the janjaweed from stopping the genocide, we could find a better safe place where the janjaweed can not find the people. And like I stated before, we could use the campaign money to build houses in the new “safe place” for the people of Darfur.
I hope you take my ideas into consideration. Please put a stop to this pointless killing and genocide.
