Global Warming

Be afraid, be very afraid. Scientists have been lobbying our governments trying to warn them about the catastrophic events that will occur and are happening as a result of global warming.

Be afraid, be very afraid. Scientists have been lobbying our governments trying to warn them about the catastrophic events that will occur and are happening as a result of global warming. We are speeding up the process of global warming with the continued use of hydrocarbons and other harmful emissions that are being expelled into our atmosphere; we are literally killing the world as we know it. The good news is that there is hope and people are aware of what is happening and there is time to change our behaviors and the usage of our resources.

Coal burning plants and cars are the biggest culprits for causing greenhouse gasses in the US, knowing this is good news; we can now modify our cars and drive around vehicles that are less damaging to the environment. This takes time but a plan has been set in motion and it is internationally recognized and acknowledged by the world leaders. Each country has agreed to reduce the carbon emissions that come from cars and as a direct result from this decision; we are now developing alternative fuel sources. We are seeing cars that run on bio-fuels as well as electric cars.

Our polar ice caps are melting and there has been a rise in our sea level which has caused concern for many low lying countries in Europe and Islands in the South Pacific and Asian regions. Flooding and stormy weather have featured in the news, globally of recent years. The hurricanes and tsunamis that have plagued the countries around the equator are getting more intense and more damaging due to the warming waters and volatile conditions.

We need to assess the state of our world and see what the impact is that we are having on it and decide what we can do.

I think they are over exaggerating the closeness of global warming. I don't think any big affects will take place in the next 100 years, nonetheless I have my flouresant light bulb in my room.

the coming of Jesus had been prophesied long before he was born, they have seen Him, they have talked and mingled w/ HIM, still they doubted Him, people will only believe about this when catastrophic events happened already.

Very good opinion on this Global subject. Yes, the Bible tells us who believe that Jesus will come and change all this, since man's greed is running this world. Thank you Lucy for sharing this wonderful article.

Well, I for one have been driving less, the price of gasoline is outrageous! I try to pay more attention whenever possible. I hear that there is an over-exaggeration concerning global warning. I only can act on what I see happening in the world around us, hopefully things will turn around and not become worse. Awareness is important and your articles are very informative.

I love the "in-your-face" writing, very personal without being biased. Great read :)

Very good work. I wish more people would take this matter seriouly. I try to go as green as I can with everything. I wrote a children's article called: Mother Nature's Dryer for mid level readers. It talks about a simple way to go green. Hang your laundry outside to dry. Something simple can go a long way to help.

I'm glad you wrote this article on Global Warming. I often hear in the news that cars are causing damage to the environment. But my question is, aren't trucks, buses, and planes causing damage to the environment as well? Great article, thanks.

I noticed the publish date...Aug. 6, 2006. Your foresight is amazing. Would you like to be nominated for president of the U.S.? Again, I like your article. I must add that Pollution is also at the top of the list.
