Greg the bunny was a happy bunny. He liked to garden with Lola bunny. They were best of friends. One day Greg's uncle came to stay at Greg's house. His name was Pete. Pete and Greg talked all night long. Then Pete started to touch Greg. Greg wanted to tell shout out to Mamma bunny, but Pete told him its normal for relatives to do this. Greg didn't know what to think. Pete continued to touch him. Greg was scared.
The next morning Greg went to see Lola. He wanted to tell her what happened but Pete told him it was to be their secret and if he ever told he would have to hurt Greg. Greg didn't speak the whole way through his date with Lola. Lola asked Greg what was wrong, but Greg simply told her nothing.
For the next few mouths Pete continued to stay at Greg's house, sometimes he even slept in the same bed as Greg. Greg didn't like this very much, but he was too scared to tell anybody. One day, Pete touched Greg as they were sat at the table eating dinner. Greg didn't finish his dinner that day.
Finally, one day, the police bunnies knocked on Greg's door wanted to speak to his Uncle Pete. They took him away. They said he had nasty stuff on his computer and that they needed to talk to him about it.
Pete never came back.
Greg couldn't bare to see Lola Bunny again.
It can be hard for a child to tell somebody about being abused.
- 1% of children have experienced sexual abuse by the hand of a parent or child-care staff, and another 3% by other relatives during childhood.
