This is a subject I would quite like your views on.Because of the line of work I have often been involved in I have come into contact with a lot of people some of whom are homosexual.Im a very frank person and have asked many of them why they adopted this lifestyle. To a heterosexual person it is a compltete mystery to me how you can find someone of the same sex, sexually attractive? What was interesting about many of their replies is that homosexuals seem to fall into two categories.
This is a subject I would quite like your views on. Because of the line of work I have often been involved in I have come into contact with a lot of people some of whom are homosexual. I'm a very frank person and have asked many of them why they adopted this lifestyle. To a heterosexual person it is a complete mystery to me how you can find someone of the same sex, sexually attractive? What was interesting about many of their replies is that homosexuals seem to fall into two categories. The first category being people who have had bad hetro-sexual experiences that are abusive relationships, unfaithful partners etc. They have turned to their own sex in the misguided notion that these things would no longer affect them. It is the second category which raises the question that entitles this thread. These are people who are homosexual because they have only ever been attracted to ones of their own sex; in fact, the thought of physical contact with the opposite sex is repugnant. So could homosexuality be in the genes?
Now before any of you jump down my throat, I am not condoning homosexuality or saying this as an excuse for people who practice it. All I know is when Adam turned his back on god not only did he lose the chance of making this earth one huge garden of Eden but he also introduced imperfection into our lives. That imperfection manifests itself in both the mental and physical in us today. I myself have been born with a genetic imperfection; I can't do anything about it i just have to deal with it. Is it the same for some homosexuals, they are born with a genetic screw-up? Is it connected that often homosexual couples are often made up of an effeminate and a masculine figure in some weird parody of a hetero-sexual couple?
Is there any a single godly man or women out there who have struggled with their feelings for their own sex, put God first and are single because of it? We are all tested repeatedly, our faith under fire each and every day we all have weaknesses particular to us, is this a weakness some of us constantly battle to overcome? I don't mean to be contentious bringing up this issue but its something I've often thought about and would be interested in any of your views.
I have often seen people bring up the theory of being born homosexual as a kind of justification for being homosexual. The fact is we are all born sinners so does that make sin natural/good?? No. Does a person who was born with a tendency for alcoholism make alcoholism good? Some people might be born with a tenancy to be a child abuser does that make pedophilia good?
You see Satan is playing a cunning trick with people. He knows that those who are repentant of their sins and believe in Jesus receive forgiveness for their sins. How can he sabotage this system? Simply by getting people to think that the sin that they sin is not sin at all and no repentance is required. People who think they have done no wrong never think to seeking forgiveness.
That's what the whole gay rights movement is about; getting Homosexuals and society to believe that homosexuality is OK. God has declared very clearly that it is an abomination, it matters not a jot weather people are born with a tendency towards being homosexual or if they make a conscious decision to pursue a homosexual life style. The Word Of God stands those who say sin is not sin are in rebellion against the Word.

Homosexuality A Generational Curse
it is a generational curse and it should be renounced by a Christian if he claims to be one and declare that he belongs now to Jesus II Corinthians 5:17 that he is now a new creature. Old things have passed away and new are come in Jesus name. he should continue to renounce it and declare his new identity in Christ Jesus out loud and always.
In my early years as a practicing Christian I saw every issue as being black or white. There is no excuse for homosexuality, there are no degrees of wrong doing, “sin is sin”. My original thread was to approach the issue of homosexuality from a compassionate view point. I am not interested in those who flagrantly disobey Gods word and who have full knowledge of the wrong they are doing. Interestingly within a couple of hours of the original post I received a message from someone who has a friend who fitted the criteria. A faithful Christian who has struggled(and overcome)feelings for the same sex. In chat this week also i talked with a female who is praying to god for the exact same reason. It is very easy to just dismiss this subject but if a little more compassion and understanding could help someone come to Jesus then so be it. I used to see homosexuals on the same level as pedophiles(all disgusting)but I have learnt to differentiate between the person and the act. If any out there have some sort of inbuilt attraction for the same sex and successfully quash those feelings, even to the extent of remaining single because of love for God over their fleshly desires then I applaud them. I started this thread to help ME get a better understanding and to not be so judgmental. Jesus mixed with all types of people (prostitutes etc) never condoning the acts but always endeavoring to reach the person. The book of revelation tells us in chapter 21 that the former things of this world will pass away and all things will be made new, I like to think this includes unnatural desires along with the rest of the wickedness that surrounds us today.
You have a great article here and you raise good questions. However, as a Christian how can you question God's own creations? All of God's creations are perfect, regardless of whether we understand them all or not. I am Native American and in more traditional Native communities homosexuals are called "Two Spirits." They were never treated as inferior or imperfect. They were not disrespected in any way. They were treated with great respect. They were called Two Spirits because God gave them the rare gift of understanding both feminine and masculine worlds. Although public displays of affection, including homosexual affection, was not tolerated, the Two Spirits were very much respected and viewed as special. For our society to become tolerant and understanding, they do need to turn to God. The more we all interact with God and make God the center of our daily lives and quit trying to judge and categorize everyone else, the better and happier we will all be.

i have to say i disagree with your article. as an agnostic who was raised Christian and now majoring in theology, i have to point out that although the Bible does indeed call homosexuality "impure", another major point is that Jesus said sentiments that follow along the lines of "live and let live" and "we are all God's children", although those may not have been his exact words. if there is a God (and i personally believe that God is there, but is more "detached" and metaphorical than many people believe) then i do not think he would hate homosexuals. i think that he would accept all people equally, based upon their own merits. i have many friends and family who are homosexual or bisexual, and some of them are devout Christians. i have long felt that people take the Bible far to literally and seriously, it is not the direct word of God, but rather the collected writings of human beings who thought that they understood God's will. they may have been (and indeed most likely were) swayed by their own beliefs and prejudices. homosexuals have a right to stand tall and proud, if you discriminate against them and attempt to deny them rights, you're as bad as Hitler when he persecuted Jews, or the ancient Romans persecuting Christians. it is wrong to call them sinners. such notions belong in a darker time.
sincerely yours,

Thanks everyone for taking a cursory glance at this fragile piece of information.I believe the moment of truth is now. Many people find themselves between the devil and the deep blue sea.The tide is big but the word of God(Jesus) will surely teach you how to swim.I'm heartily sorry if my article causes old wounds to bleed; the truth is bitter but must visit the atmosphere.Know the truth and be set free.We can not drink milk through out our lives and neglect the value of solid food. This is an undiluted message for those in need. We've got to face the bull by its horns for he who fights and runs away needs to fight another day.
