Alright here it is and I know it's been talked about many times before but why not just go ahead and legalize marijuana. In the past 10 years there has been a lot of research done on this drug and its effects to users. Although like most drugs and alcohols it does have some down sides but nothing serious.
I'm not a drug user in anyway shape or form and I personally can't even take headache pills but after seeing what's happening to our environment and so on I think the drug can be put to good use. Everybody has got it stuck in their heads that marijuana is some gate way drug that leads to more serious and hard drugs down the road but the truth of the matter is its no more a gate way drug then beer, cigarettes, pain pills and so on. Like I said at the start it does have a few down sides but overall in my mind it can do more good then bad.
For example a few of the good things marijuana can do and is doing today is used for making clothes, helps terminally ill people live a little less in pain, you can make fuel from the oil in the seeds, paper can be made from it and on top of all that in the right conditions it can be grown over and over again in a period of 6 months leaving our trees which takes hundreds of years to go to its full potential. Marijuana in my eyes is safer then cigarettes and booze and has more potential to help then to do bad. I'm located in Canada myself and in the last 10 years here in our country the laws have slacken a bit allowing people who are terminal ill to obtain a special card from the government that gives them the right to smoke the drug, be in possession of a certain amount without being charged and your allowed to grow so many yourself.
I believe this is a step in the right direction and why not legalize and stop filling jails with possession cases and leave room for the hardcore drug dealers of cocaine, heroin and murders. I know not all people that read this will agree but it's everywhere in the world almost, so why not put it to use and save some of our non-renewable resources. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the laws should be changed over night but it should be seriously considered in the future after more studies have been done.
I have a terminally ill mother that's been prescribed marijuana here and I thank god for that because this woman was living with so much pain before and now seems like she's a little better since so in my eyes if it can help my family it can help anyone else's that's in the same situation.
