Mobile Phones: Good or Bad?

Is a palm sized device worth the money?

Let's all face the fact, billions of people use it daily, but what is the thing that keeps it going. What is the source of fuel that keeps people wanting newer and newer mobile phones?

Maybe it's because of the fact that it is convenient to use as you can phone everywhere but what happens in rural areas? Additionally, why would you need to phone someone? If someone phones you because their coming to your house, then it would be pointless seeing as though you can't make it back. All you do is lose a few cents down the drain.

You may be thinking about the pressures of getting mobile phones when you were younger because it still happens. Lots of teenagers around the world are now competing for the best phone in the grade and possibly school. Of course, the iPhone is the most amazing of them all with no argument but what is the point of this? The main reason you have a phone in high school is because if there is transportation problems or other social issues.

However, if you are an adult, sometimes, a phone can be quite useful for asking friends questions when you are on the go. While you are waiting for your child's gymnastics or karate to finish, you can watch the relaxing mobile television at very affordable rates. You can also read the news, or even play games if you are interested.

There is also health problems blamed on the mobile phone because it may damage your ear. However, if you are responsible enough to own a mobile phone, it should not harm at all. Basically, if you just use it when necessary and appropriately, you will not be harmed at all by the phone. If you are harmed, it's your fault you can't control yourself properly.

Overall, it is evident that phones are part of billions of lives daily but I believe that phones should only be used by the responsible and those over 18 as children like mine can't be trusted with such expensive phones and cannot control the SMS text messaging. This may cause depression with high phone bills which is another negative part of mobile phones.

I think it's pointless to "have to" speak to anyone or anyone can reach you when you are on your time out of the house. If it's that important, say you were a surgeon/military/CIA, then so be it but 95% of us don't have" to be available or make that call while driving or walking in a mall or in line(making other people belive you are speaking with them)

What's more it's ridiculous how people seem to enjoy announcing their trivial anecdotes comments and uselss small talk in front of total strangers anywhere including wahsrooms, on a treadmill in the gym, camping, in your bathtub etc.

It's the need to connect by wire, to show off that you are important that is alienating people from speaking to each other normally in a normal time of day. It's all about now. People are loosing their manners and do not know how to communicate with each other "live" anymore.

Finally one must only see that too much of anything leaves little of quality below are some examples

A few TV channels with Decent programs of before
what do we do?---Hunderds of channels of all kinds now with so many junk programs

Just a car Radio as a luxury before
Now Cd Rom/ TV/Cell phone/mixers--more theft, more accidents

Telling of stories ot friends anecdotes and having a wonderful eveing on weekends catching up

Meeting up with friends and repeating yourself for lack of anyting of subtance to say--it's already been said

Enough SAID!!!

I think a good age to start to have a mobile is 12. It is good for emergencys and if you want to contact family. and i think if you want to keep up with the new fashion for MOBILE PHONES then it is clearly up to you. Your the one who has to buy it. And at the moment im in high school and it isnt a real big trend because we arnt even aloud them at our school but everyone stills brings them anyway.
