Overfishing

A major problem we currently have in the world, that needs to be looked at from everyones point of view.

Overfishing when fish are fished too much that it causes a species to be in danger of extinction.

Overfishing has caused for a fish “Black Market”. This means people have been taking fish illegally, they steal undersize fish or take too much fish. Unfortunately, this is only contributing to more overfishing, resulting in yet more black market activities.

Overfishing also causes a rising price in the fish and ocean market. Boats, Fishing equipment and anything to do with the ocean are going up in price as fish levels grow less and less. This again, as the price goes up, more demand for fish will come and then will result in less and less fish.

This is an on-going problem, and it needs to be stopped. The problem is, it is a very hard case to stop. If we stopped fishing for a while, fish companies will go out of business. This would prove a major problem for all businesses around the world.

We rely on fish a lot. We eat fish, we use fish oil, and we keep them as pets. It is recommended that humans eat 3-4 serves of fish a day for good health. The reason we need them is simple, they have Omega oils, which helps to improve our brain functionality.

Fishing has been a part of human civilization for years and years. We have been fishing ever since the first people walked the Earth until now when we are using large ships to fish millions of kilograms of fish a day. According to some scientists we are fishing double the amount of fish we were in the 1970's.

Overfishing is also contributing to a "loss in diversity". This loss means that we humans are affecting not just fish levels, but all predators of fish, and then the predators of them predators and so on. Not a good situation to be in.

But what can we do to stop it? There are guides on the Internet and books that tell you what type of fish to buy and fish and what not to. These are all determined by the amount of that type of fish we have. The fish with fewer amounts should be fished and bought less, and we should be buying fish with higher levels. These acts could help determine a certain species of fish is around in the next 20 years.
