There is pollution because of big companies that manufacture products on a large scale, most big company owners wouldn't even give a single thought of what there wastes are doing to the land, the air, and the ozone layer of the atmosphere that protects us from radiation. I am not saying that we shut down the companies that make the products that make our lives easier, I am saying that the companies should find environmentally safe ways to make their products on a large scale, so as not to harm the Earth.
Pollution can harm the life on Earth, it can harm you, me, and the rest of the inhabitants of Earth. In some cases pollution has caused mutations like frogs growing an extra set of legs. I think that life on Earth is too precious to destroy. The plants clean our air, give us food, and provide us with medicines; ideas for new medicines. The animals provide us with food, good company, and their wastes fertilize the Earth. The bacteria, although at times can make us sick or kill us, are helpful... For example: The decomposers are "natures cleanup crew" they help break down matter and return the nutrients to the soil, there are also "good" bacteria on our skin that protects us from the "bad" bacteria.
Most people would not give any thought about what pollution does to the environment. They don't give a thought because, as far as I can tell, as long as they get what they want they don't care, so they probably don't know, what happens to the rest of the world. So please, do what you can to help the environment so even though you probably won't see right away, and might not see in your lifetime, what you do will benefit the Earth, and all the life on it, in the long run.
