Pop Culture,Politics,and Controversy

In our modern culture, controversy is always front page news, from political scandals to celebrity gossip columns, free speech vs. censorship, controversy is always going to be around so long as people have differing opinions and do things that make people around them wonder about their sanity.

The following article recounts some of the most bizarre and controversial happenings in American pop culture and politics. We all recall just a few short years ago when former President Clinton made the statement that he "didn't inhale" when he was asked if he had ever smoked marijuana.

Needless to say in the years since that statement was made, more marijuana busts have been made than ever. Is it simply people acting out of a "follow the leader" mentality?

I have to wonder,I myself do not endorse the use of marijuana at all, as we've seen with Clinton, it kills more than a few brain cells.

Number two most bizarre controversial moment to me would have to be Ozzy Osbourne's bat-biting incident. The reason it makes this list is it begs the question "What on earth was he thinking?" In sync with that controversial moment, we have the time he urinated on the Alamo wall,Is Ozzy truly mad or is it an act?

I am not sure I should voice my opinion there but the city of San Antonio surely did. Ozzy was banned from performing there for the following ten years.

Next, we have the all too controversial Larry Flynt announcing his candidacy for President of the United States on national T.V. Who knew that one was coming? Was he serious? To this day that very question is hotly debated.

This article could go on for a while, but we'll call this part One and cut it short for now,

Thanks for reading, and if you, my readers have anything to add feel free to comment

I have to disagree that Marijuana kills brain cells. Right wing conservatives who dont smoke seem to be very quick to go to war, which accomplishes nothing, especially in our current war. The teaching of Democracy via assault rifle and bomb? I just cant agree with that one. Or war in general for that matter. With Ozzy and the bat it was well known that he thought the bat was fake, and it was supposed to be an act. As far as the Alamo goes, yeah, that was just dis-respectful and wrong.
