The punishment should not fit the criminal as everybody has a right to learn from their mistakes. Good morning Chairman, Adjudicator and fellow students.
As the first speaker said briefly, I will be talking about the effect that punishments have on communities, organisations, families and friends.
I believe the punishment should not fit the criminal as it can have a great effect on the community.
It could have an effect on the community as the criminal could have been part of an organisation and committed a crime without knowing it.
He would be sent to jail and the organisation will not have that person anymore and it could be a great loss.
An example could be that your best friend might have committed a crime accidentally. Something might happen to them and you might not see them ever again.
How would you feel if that happened to you. I don’t think you would like it very much.
Another example could be that one of your older family members was being violent in the home or anywhere else and was sent away. You would lose a family member and that would make many very sad.
The punishment should not fit the criminal as everybody has a right to learn from their mistakes. Thank you for listening to our side of the case and I hope we have persuaded you to our side.
