The only thing worse would be attacking a nursing home.
A concern of mine is also with the police that respond.
Nothing against them personally but we need to start training our police like Swat, quicker response better leadership and officers willing to get in between the kids and the killers.
Unless we arm teachers or follow my idea to train all police para-military style, this trend will continue.
It is understood that running into a building with a man killing kids with an AK-47 is dangerous, especially when all the cop has is a pea-shooting 9-millimeter pistol, but consider that the kids have nothing, just a cotton T-shirt between them and a 7.62 projectile.
Standing out side waiting while some ass-hole murders children, the choice is clear.
It is also understood that you might be reprimanded by running in the building to confront the killers without orders, but again, the kids have nothing between them and oblivion, so even if your sergeant raises his voice because you downed his power trip, get the fuck up and act.
Soldiers risk life and limb all the time for people in some toilet country they don't even know.
I have received police training and am aware of the limitations of a cop tactically, but one fundamental thing I learned is if you know your going into battle, bring a howitzer.
In fairness I was not there, but I did see officers with military assault rifles, what were you doing, gather four of your fellow officers, go into the buildings where you know he might be, clear the fatal funnel as much as possible and put the son of a bitch on the slab.
Me personally, knowing there was a good chance I would die, would have charged in, because I don't like to lose when the loss is so epic, I would have disregarded policy, red tape and procedure, because at the end of the day I want my tombstone to say crazy but not lazy.
