I think abortion should only be allowed if a woman has been raped or if you abort the baby before the heart starts beating.
However if you dont want a baby you should use a condom

How can someone kill another? abortion is one of the worsthings a women can do. why punish a baby for something it didnt choose to do. A baby doesnt decide where or when to be form. if rape abortion doesnt have to be an option. why dont ppl just leave abortion for last? Did you know that After thirty minutes of conseption cell division occurs and everyting thats needed to make the baby is already there. Could u picture ur self cuting off ur foot or a part of ur body? i know i wouldnt be able to do that. when u abort its basicaly the same thing this baby is a part of u once u kill it its basicaly killin a part of u without even relizing it. I really respect the ideas presented by both sides of the topic, but this article is so biased, cold, and lacks any lobical reasoning. What do you mean that one will get poorer if they have babies, so question...why did they choose to have sexual intercourse in the first place, because you know that is what sexual intercourse is about....believe it or not... to have babies. I mean first off I agree with Jonathon that you have to work hard and second off, if one is worried about the family income, why have sex in the first place? use a condom or other birth control methods....not killing another potential life.

I believe strongly that in some cases abortion should be allowed. But even I, someone who is partially for abortions would have to agree and say that this article is the reason many feel abortions should be illegal. Not wanting to supply for a child, the child you chose to concieve is no excuse for aborting it. And to say that bringing in life is eventually leading to overpopulation? Children are god's blessings. I understand that females who may have been raped and gotten pregnant may not be ready to have kids may think that abortion is the best thing, but then again I agree that abortion is not a good thing because why would u punish ur child for the mistakes that u may have made to be able to get pregnant.

My opinion is NO! Once a child is concieved, it is considered alive and should not be murdered because the parent does not want it, or for any other reason. If a person makes such a mistake and gets pregnant without trying, they have the responsibility to care for that child until it is born. Then there is always the option of putting it up for adoption, rather than having it killed.

Abortion is wrong! It is killing someone who could have a life ,but it would be taken away from them. I can see why someone would want an abortion after being raped! If you are going to have a child after being raped, I think they should have the baby and put it up for adoption! At least you can save one more life in this world.

All the time at the hospital I work at, the young girls who are pregnant always ask me if I think they should abort their baby. This is not my choice. It is theirs. They may have gotten raped or simply didn\'t use birth control, but it is THEIR body, therefore it is their descision. Personally, I think abortion should be allowed, because, as Hannah said, it may be murder, and it just may be heartless, but it is not our choice.

When I read the very first comment put on this site, and was rebuttled by #5, Jonathan, I disagreed with him. Some families simply cannot afford another baby. That is reality. Maybe because they are out of work, or because they already have a huge family to support, and they should not be judged for wanting to abort. Perhaps you should walk a mile in somebody\'s shoes before saying they are cold, Jonathan.

I have to say some of you got very valid points. And some of you some not so valid points. I personally believe that abortion should be allowed. I just don't think that any form of government should be able to make such a decision for any female especially in the U.S. I believe abortion should be an available option for any person who seeks to do so. Why? Because first of all outlawing abortion would only succeed in denying the female sex her right to choose and control their destiny.

You might say that the fetus has rights, and it in fact does. But those rights do not supersede the prospective mothers rights. Why because the prospective the fetus is a part of the prospective mother. Meaning the baby is dependent on the mother. That is until the fetus reaches its age of viability. That being the time at which the fetus can survive with medical aid.

I'm doing a debate in school against abortion i think its totally wrong your taking the life away from an innocent human being in the bible it states, " Born or unborn ; its still a "person". There are plenty of reasons why is should be made illegal. No one has the right to take away the life of an innocent person. I understand people think its right because of rape but thats only 1% of women who are raped get abortions 93% is because of there own choice.

i think it should be allowed cos it's up to the woman and it's a personal issue and it's no one else's business. i think you should have an abortion if the child is going to be born disbaled and has no future. it's selfish keeping it alive if it has to suffer. also if you've been raped or for example if the condomn split and you get pregnant and you can't look after the baby than it should be allowed. i think people that dont use contraception or think having a baby is an accessory should not abort and face the responsibility. but on the whole it's nobody else's choice, but the woman's and no one has the right telling anyone what to do. also religion has nothing to do with it, that is someone's personal choice.

Abortion should be allowed as indicated in certain cases. It is considered murder only after a certain period of a fetus development, not before. Ignorance is rampant in this field. The choice is definitely the mother's. When the fetus has developed its brain functioning (8 weeks) to abort the fetus would be murder except in cases or mother's imminent death, severe genetic abnormality, and or some other reason that is crucial to the well-being of the mother or the family.

Religion should be cohesive not divisive, if it is then you are in the wrong religion.
