Domestic violence happens all around you. It
could be in your neighborhood and even in your very own home. Domestic violence can be from adult to adult, adult to child, and child to child. It doesn’t matter who is doing it, it still needs to be stopped. There are many reasons why it should be stopped, but many people do not know how.
Domestic violence needs to be stopped because if it is parents who are using violence against others, then kids, when they grow up may think it is okay to act like that. Also if it is kids that are using violence they need to be stopped because if not they could go through life and think that violence is the answer to all their problems when actually it will only get them in trouble. It doesn’t matter if you are part of the violence or not but if you live near where it is happening it can still make a big impact on your life.
Ways to stop domestic violence can include many things. If things get really bad you can call the cops, the person might not get arrested but it will sure make them think before they act. If it is a kid going through life with parents whose fights sometimes turn into fist fights you could make posters of different numbers to call if you are affected by domestic violence and hang them around their house.
If it is the kids that are using violence, every time they hit somebody you could sit them down and talk to them about how what they’re doing is wrong and ask them why they did it, it wouldn’t matter if they were just playing that still doesn’t make it right. If parents are hitting their kids they may make excuses and say that the kid did something wrong.
Instead of hitting a kid when they do something wrong the parent should explain to them why they shouldn’t do those things. Parents may think that when they smack their kids it makes them realize that what they did was wrong, but it can actually make things worse.
There are reasons why we should stop domestic violence, and many ways to stop it. Even if it has only happened once you want to make sure it doesn’t happen again so think of a way to stop it and take action.
