Television and Children

Parents must not allow children to have whatever they want as they love their children...

Parents normally put guidelines for children in other areas but not in this specific area of television. Parents must not give freedom in handling s television at their free will as this will definitely affected on children very badly.

Children are the future. Parents must not hope children will make right choices. In the present situation both the mother and father are working and away from home. Children are at home. This situation pave the way for especially teen children to watch television at free will and none is at home to monitor their behavior. They can watch movies with violence, terror and crime.

Parental control is not to rob the opportunity of children's freedom and independence. The control should be done in an appropriate manner. Guidelines and boundaries must be put for children or otherwise the situation might go beyond parent's control.

Children must be educated to make a choice, a right choice. Parental control will ensure that children are safe from inappropriate televising programs. Television companies think only of the larger audience and they make their choice. They do not think of your children. Parents have no control to influence the television companies.

Today television are filled with nonsense, violence, crimes and all sorts of unnecessary or not suitable programs, non quality television shows rubbish for entertaining children. When there are educational televisions programs children will avoid watching them. It is absolutely necessary for controlling television at homes specially when there are teen children at home.

Another most important aspect is devoting more time for television; children's education is also affected. They do not have enough time for their studies. Parents must monitor the usage of television and children must not be allowed to watch televise as and when they want. Instead they must be given a specific time period for this purpose.

It is the duty of the parents to set safe parameters for the children. Too much of television watching will make children lazy and inactive and this will lead to unhealthy children. It is obvious that children do not like this type of control. It is the duty of the parents to look after their children at least they come to the adult age of eighteen. Until then parents will have to monitor and show them how to make a good choice. If the children are not obeying, there is no other option but to replace the television with a library.
