World Peace

What would it take to create world peace?

Is it just an illusion? We like to think that if the Taliban would just co-operate and so and so wasn't around then world peace could be achieved. What would it take to create world peace? Even if we could achieve it for one day, one day in a year, wouldn't that be grand and absolutely fantastic?

The truth is that there is no 'peace' as the world we live on is an ever changing sphere and it is in a constant phase of transformation and flux. This may be the only truth that is constant. Life as we know it and the planet that we live on is constantly in a stage of colliding with something else, it is always on a collision path in this solar system, maybe not today but you know eventually it will be. It is always crashing with many other particles and atoms and items are being moved about and we are only beginning to comprehend the enormity of our world and the challenges it faces.

As a life form, we see ourselves as superior to the other mammals, maybe not elephants or dolphins but certainly all the other creatures, why did this come about? The Bible may have had something to do with it and science has also played a vital role too but at the end of the day, we can only know what is now and what is present. Truthfully speaking, we are human and anyone could tell you how the game 'Chinese Whispers' works. History is like that too, built on folk tales and memories.

We have not learned or discovered the secrets of the Pyramids in Egypt, the facts about Stonehenge or the truth behind Atlantis but we like to think that we know everything. The truth is far from that reality. We are always on the cutting edge of discovery and that is part of the joy in living. Living and learning.

The dream for Martin Luther King was equality and the dream for Neil Armstrong was walking on the moon and there will always dreams to fulfill, mine is to see world peace and to see people helping other people.

People helping other people is a beautiful dream isn't it or have more and more people become self absorbed and don't care about others and don't care whether they hurt others. Sometimes it seems that way to me.But there are those out there who do care and when they do it makes it all the more special. Great article!

Great article,
We must all do our part in making this a better world. To be mindful and stop to help the vulnerable and needy people around us. To practice until it becomes a habit so our children will then follow our lead. As you say and I qoute "to see world peace and to see people helping other people." My hope is to see changes so while still here I will know the world will be a better place for my children and theirs. Like the dominoe effect...things I believe will turn around, it's time for change.

Sorry for rambling, I am really passionate about this!
