Is "Nerdic" The Global Language of The Future?

The use of techie and electronic gadgets has created new words and phrases, which many are calling a new language.

What is this new language over taking English as the most commonly expressed vocabulary by people under 30 or at least under 25? Linguistic experts call it “Geek Speak”, but the popular name for these new words entering the everyday semantics cross the globe is “Nerdic”.

It is reported in Europe that this is the language of the next generation. Pixmania.com (perhaps Europe's largest internet retailer) said this year; “Nerdic” is the “fastest growing dialect” in Europe. They have also compiled a list of words they are calling “Nerdic”, the new semantics of the world of technology.

It is being reported by “techie” language experts from England to India to Greece to China that 100 new words are being added to world languages annually that basically come from the world of technology. They predict that 200 new “Nerdic” words will be added in 2008.

The editor of the website Pocket-Lint, Stuart Miles, recently said, “Technology has revolutionized the way we speak. With so many words and phrases being created all the time it's created a whole new way of communicating.”

Some European experts are saying that “Nerdic” should be recognized as an official language because it has the three basic components that define a new language: words, phrases and pronunciation. They are applications pending presently with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in London, to make “Nerdic” an official world language!
