This is a chemical term that refers to the coat protein of a certain strain of Tobacco Mosaic Virus, Dahlemense Stain, which is 1185-letter-long single word. The letter combination “yl” appears 166 times in this word. This term was published in the American Chemical Society's Chemical Abstracts in 1972, and is considered as the longest real word in the English language. This awful word was taken from The Insomniac's Dictionary by Paul Hellweg. However, a word of 1,909 letters at number 12 as documented in The Most Horrible English Words is longer than this word. It is a chemical name for the whole of a human chromosome which could run to many thousands of letters. According to the Guinness Book of Records, this word can have over 207,000 characters. If you lay out the primary structure of the enzyme "tryptophan synthetase A" of this word in full (such as the largest: HTS1_COCCA), it could be a very, very long word. However, if you write down the systematic organic chemical formula of the largest protein (HTS1_COCCA), and the result would be a word of over 200,000 characters in length as cited by the Guinness. Nevertheless, these two chemical words are not the longest words in the world. “Somewhenotodayoun...gown” is a word that is considered as the longest both in the English language and in the world as its length reaches to 3,609,750 letters or it may occupy 810 pages. This word means “the current day or date between real and imaginable today.” It was coined by writer Nigel Tomm in his book titled “The Blah Story, Volume 19.” The second longest word, “babyoubiquitouse...oiletub”, was also coined by the similar writer in his book titled “The Blah Story, Volume 10.” The second largest word contains letters as many as 2,087, 217 and means something like a girl or a bitch. These two words are not included in dictionaries.

This is one of the longest words found in Finnish. It has exactly 1783 letters. I've no idea of its meaning, maybe someone who knows its meaning can post it to my comment section. I'd suggest that this stuff be used to test your spelling ability while reciting it from your memory to impress your friends.
