Cops

Why is it ok for cops to do as they please without punishment? I'm stating my honest opinion to the real life situations that are happening in our country.

In many stories that I have read about cops, people are accusing them of doing harm or being in the wrong for some action. Now, I'm not saying that the victims are lying. In fact I'm actually siding with them.

Many of the stories about cops that I have heard about, read about, or even watched on television have pretty much all involved them doing some sort of harm to another person if not more than one. What I don't understand is WHY it is ok. Its been told and shown on the news more than once he violence police officers have towards citizens. People have been beaten nearly to death. They have been shot! Some even killed. Wrongly accused and later apologized to for the misunderstanding. So what! Wow they say they're sorry. But, are they really? I mean, isn't it they're job to investigate the truth behind whatever happened before they mistreat innocent people?

For instance right now we've been following the Drew Peterson case. It's believed by many that he killed his wife, but yet he's still free. All of the circumstantial evidence points directly to him and yet, he's still free. WHY? Because he's a cop, or there's no real hard physical evidence? Didn't he have what like two or three other wives? Didn't they state that he had a violent history with them? What else…he has one ex wife who is no longer with us. Do we know why? No. Do we know anything? No. I think that maybe there's no physical evidence because he is a police officer who has been on the force for however long and knows just how to cover up anything. But hey that's just my opinion.

Now we move on to the shooting that killed a groom-to-be outside of a strip club because officers say one thing while the victims say another. I don't understand this story either. I mean why would you start shooting just because you over hear or you think you hear someone say, “I don't fight no more.” That's no reason to start shooting. I mean come on. One man was lucky enough to survive with sixteen hard shots from the neck down! The other died! What's wrong with this picture? Someone reached inside they're pocket and the first thing you do is fire? Someone says one thing then they say another, what are we to believe, that just because they're police officers they're always in the right? I don't think so. They make just as many mistakes as any one else. Once again that's just my opinion.

Last but certainly not least you have the woman whom we watched on CNN news being thrown around like a rag doll. The police officer even shut the tape recorder off! Your not supposed to do that are you? I mean if your hiding something but why put yourself in that predicament? Makes no sense to me. You know something happened when before the tape was shut off the woman was fine. Maybe drunk but in pretty good physical condition. Once the tape came back on…she looked like no offense but a bloody mess. The officer even checked his own knuckles before opening the door. Come on. What gives anyone the right to do such bodily harm to a person? I lost track of the case but I haven't heard a word or seen anything about the officer who provoked such violence to this woman. That's just my opinion.

I guess what I'm getting at is, why is it ok for police officers to do such nasty things and pretty much get away with it? They are supposed to protect us, and keep us safe not hurt us. Everything you have read and will read is only my opinion. I'm not trying to offend anyone.
