Teen Driver Laws

On teen driver laws, and how they are smart and effective.

“It is better to be safe than sorry” is a saying that should be applied to the teen driving laws in some states. These laws state that a beginner driver does not get the same privileges as a seasoned driver. I think that teens should have limits on what they can do when they first get their driver's license. The laws do many great things, such as, preventing accidents, distracting teens, and it also trains drivers to drive correctly.

The laws prevent many accidents and deaths each year because it makes many teens follow rules to prevent things like these to happen. Statistics show that teen drivers are twenty times more likely to get into an accident than older drivers. These rules would definitely let many teens to live longer across the whole country. Some might say that most teens are very responsible. However, teens are still human, creatures that are able to make errors, and are capable to make little mistakes that might result in huge consequences, such as accidents.

These laws also prevent other teens to be in the same car when a teen is driving. Many teen drivers talk to these friends while driving. This causes the driver to be very distracted. One might say that most teens can drive just fine when other teenagers are on board. However, there is the use of the word “most”, and therefore I believe that we should not take a chance with the “few”.

Teen driver laws also make more professional drivers guide the teen while driving. This person can teach the teen driver how to drive correctly and help avoid accidents. This will train the driver to be better at driving. You may say that this is extremely inconvenient for the teens. But, by enforcing these rules this prevents possibly accidents and death. Is an inconvenience worth your life?

These laws should be enforced everywhere around the country. These laws save lives, gets rid of distractions, and train teens to drive. I believe that these laws are great ideas and should be put into place immediately. There is another quote that could apply to teen drivers and that is “we must learn to walk before we run.”

i dont think that being a MALE TEEN driver, should put me into a steriotype. I have never been in an accident from when i was 16 untill currently (19). I have had my own car and after 90-100,000KM of driving since i was 16, most of the time i have been the one (as MANY other people) Avoiding the old man in the buick that runs every red light, or turns when its not his right-of -way. I think that as a teen, IF insurance starts at 300$a month for example, it should decrease a reasonable amount every 6? months without an accident. When i turn 25 my rates will slightly decrease. I bought a camero for 1500$ .. a bit of a fixer upper , and insurance is $750 A MONTH. A young person cannot afford to drive anymore.
