The Criminal Justice System Regarding Children and Juveniles

How do juvenile rights differ from those recognized in the adult system? Should there be a separate justice system for juveniles, or should all juveniles be dealt with in the adult system?

Children have the same rights as adults except trial by jury, and in some states, the right to bail. Children have a right to an attorney at all stages of the proceedings, the right to introduce evidence and tell their side of the story, the right to cross-examine witnesses and the right to remain silent during the hearing.

All courts within the juvenile justice jurisdiction exercise the principles of civil procedures, which emphasize notice and opportunity to defend. They also emphasize due process factors that protect juveniles who come under their authority, making dispositions in the child's best interest.

Yes there needs to be a continuation of the juvenile court regarding children. Children need protection in regard to the entirety regarding their life's struggles. A child's outlook and living situation is based upon what has been offered to him or her regarding socialization with their lives. The court system regarding juveniles takes this into consideration in dealing with its youth in trouble.
