So take a minute, slow down and observe others who may need a random act of kindness today.
- Hold the elevator door open for someone even though you really are in a hurry to get to your appointment
- Give an older person your seat on the bus or subway
- Allow passengers to exit the elevator first, before you enter it
- Hold the door for those carrying a large bundle or young children
- Use the words “please” and “thank you” to your co-workers, your boss, your children and even the taxi driver
- When speaking to your co-workers, friends, parents, children or even strangers make eye contact with them
- In a conversation take the time to just listen and let the other person speak
- Say “Good Morning” to your co-workers, boss, neighbors and strangers that you meet
- Ask how your neighbor, friend, boss, mother, child, sister is doing and don't be in a hurry to only talk about yourself
- Pick up the litter that you see lying in your neighborhood, around your school campus and on the beach
- Use your turn signal when driving and be a courteous driver
- Allow the person behind you in the check-out line to cut in front when they only have a few things and you have a full cart
- Walk your shopping cart back to the designated stall in the parking lot
- Check on an elderly neighbor just to see if they are okay
- Make a pot of coffee at work or home without being asked
- Bake some cookies and give some to the gardener, the postman, your child's teacher or a neighbor
- Wait and then eat your meal after everyone is served
- Clean up your own mess at home, in the office lounge or when eating in a fast food restaurant
- Leave the porch light on until everyone arrives home safely each night
- Call your mother, father or children when you reach your destination just to tell them that you arrived safely
