It is easy to neglect our goals. This happens when you have started on to achieve something. We tend to lose motivation just because of obstacle which at that time seem to be unavoidable. As time progress everything seems to be unimportant and we start thinking that it doesn?t matter if I don?t do what I have planned to do. It happens only in the middle of something. If it happens in the beginning we could change the course.
There could be several reasons why we lose the motivation and persistence that we have when initially started. It appears as though they do not make sense anymore. It is at this time that the fear overcomes all other emotions. So we need to develop fear of losing what we considered to be important when we have started. We need to think about the negative consequence that can happen if we do not achieve our goal and if we do not do what needs to be done presently. Only fear will drive you to do the task than any other thing. Motivation and determination seem to be not playing any important role during this period.
That is the reason why fear is an important emotion that we need to apply properly. Of course also fear that doing the task will result in other side effects. But we need to weigh the situation correctly and decide the next course of action. When the fear of not achieving the desired goal and its negative consequences overweigh the fear of completing the task at hand then the fear itself will become an alternative form of motivation. Use fear in a right way at the right time.
