Don't Worry, Be Happy!

Why people worry and how it affects our life, and how can we overcome it.

Many of us worry most often than not in our lives. Not only adults, but children worry too. A common scenario is when parents develop worries because their kids will be sitting for their final examinations. The major concern is how well will their children do in the test and parents sometimes are so tensed up than their children, thus causing their kids to be unsure of what they have studied.

The question is how could an individual cope with such pressures, which is causing stress and anxiety in many homes currently.

It is normal and natural to have some worry at some point of time over health, finances, family or work as it is part and parcel of life. But it is vital that we do not let these concerns or worries take over our life and eat us up.

This is because such worries are unhealthy and may disrupt our daily routines, affect our ability to focus clearly and carry out our daily responsibilities and weaken our body, mind and spirit.

If one analyzes worry, you will find that you are usually worrying about the pas or the future, and about something that have happened or may happen.

Many forget that the present moment which is vital because the current period can decide the future.

If the worrying situation is prolonged and left unchecked, it can lead to destructive mental habit and health problems resulting in depleted energy, depression, dullness and feeling withdrawn.

Research has shown that worry makes no sense because we have no control of our future and we cannot change our past events.

What is more important is that we should evaluate the various situations that contribute to our worries and find out why we chose to worry about them.

Following this we should train our mind to think about positive events and not could it with situations that bring regrets. Worry always arises from a negative tendency in our minds and when this occurs, we tend to forget about our past successes and remember only our negative moments.

One of the best ways to deal with it is changing how you think about the problems that cause you to worry and changing what you do about the issue that causes you to worry. It is usually that, if an issue is under control will not lead to problem. So, it's how we control our thinking and perspective we look at and issue.

So, always cultivate positive thinking and positive mental attitude, and our worries will eventually vanish in our lives.
