Happiness and Success 10

This is the continuation of character building towards happiness and success.

Modern Day Example Of Character Building - Bill Gates

Blessed with all material needs to be productive in life from childhood to the age of 52, as of this date June 21, 2008, the world reknown founder of Microsoft, continues to strive to live a much better life by focusing on areas for improvement for himself , his family, and the poor people of the world. He has reached a stage wherein the enterprise he built can take over almost all the work he can do when it comes to his software business. Microsoft has many engineers, managers, programmers, aside from research and development budget to remain the leader in software innovation. Looking into articles about his life, he plans on making his $ 100 billion foundation more useful for this world. Bill Gates had donated billions of dollars to various philantrophic, charitable, or meaningful organizations around the world. He can influence any key institution towards the right direction.

By July 1, 2008 , the top man of Microsoft will retire. Free from the internal problems of Microsoft, he can attend to his plan to be more concerned with "ideas" in order to contribute to the story of creating a better world for future generations, aside from finding ways and means to help the present generation cope up with the present.

The present time is plagued by the major problem of rising prices of gasoline and oil. People all over the world feel the effects of corresponding hikes in cost of living, because almost all necessities depend on the price and supply of these sources of energy. Governments have deployed alternative ways of handling the crisis -- production of Electric or Electronically Operated Vehicles, alternative sources of fuel, Solar Power, Wind-based Generators of Power, Logically speaking, this world can produce "Nuclear-Powered Generator Plants" so as not to have scarcity of energy source. But the possibility of allowing more people to have access to the nuclear technology will also endanger the security, safety, and peace that this world already enjoys. Wait a minute. What am I thinking of ? Can Bill Gates dedicate some years for the solution to this problem ?

"Hypothesis 2008-Mission Impossible For Bill Gates" can if he believes he can; if he believes nothing is impossible with God. It appears workable for such a person to utilize his limited resources to harness and multiply available resources a hundredfold -- by listening to advices of various experts from all countries that have their corresponding resources for a way to overcome the crisis. He can gather statistics and size up preferred means from different places. Then through creative imagination, this same character can lead the creation of computerized generation, accumulation, distribution, and efficient use of energy sources. Let us play around with our creative imagination like children dream of fantastic super heroes. Let us pick a concrete example.

We must have read about Supercars or cars that fly. How can man reach that stage of technology? Common sense would make us try the alternative of producing lighter vehicles and avoid heavy materials. But why wait for the time to aim for Supercars when we know that less energy will be needed to run lighter vehicles on the ground ? Perhaps "computerized sensors" in all vehicles can prevent impact and protect passengers as soon as it is able to scan the vehicles 20 meters away, so that event if the vehicle is made up of light materials, the chances of an impact will be negligible. Why not mix the technology of computers and the technology of standard automobiles ? It can run using different options. When there is adequate sunlight, a vahicle can absorb power and store it coming from solar energy.

At night, a vehicle can utilize fully charged batteries that should last for 2 days or longer. If there is no sunlight during the day, the computer can choose the option of using the wind to generate power and to store it in the battery. What if there is no sunlight and there is no wind ? Well, if there are infrastructures wherein we can simply plug into a power source to recharge, that will be fine. Or the owner can just swap his discharged battery with a fully charged one in a nearby recharging station. Another idea can be the creation of a software and mechanical device that will start generating power and storing energy while driving downhill. ( Of course I do not mean when the vehicle is falling down a ravine.) . Logically, it is possible for a vehicle to start converting H2O into hydrogen fuel while driving downhil, if it has the software to do so along with a mechanical device. If this is done, let us see if mankind can run out of oceans.

The importance of a software that makes accurate decisions will play a vital role in future technology. A car can speak with a warning. "Unknown curve 20 meters ahead. This car must slow down." Then, whether the driver is stupid or not, the car will automatically slow down. It can also say, " Your power supply is good up to one more hour of use. Recharge now." And then, whether or not the driver knows how, the computer will select the available options and select the best alternative or scold the driver to wake up to his senses.

A powerful software can prevent drunk drivers and unskilled drivers from driving. The computer can analyze their pattern of using the gadgets inside the vehicle, forcing an error lock up in the process. This can be followed by a message. "Your pattern has just generated a bluescreen error. The system needs to shutdown. Call Technical Support."

Will someone wake me up?
