Sorcery in the modern world

How sorcery has become more prevalant in modern society then ever before and what this means

If i was wishing to bring about the demise of a person and I practised voodun, one way to quickly bring this to bear would be to publicly hammer a coffin nail above the persons door. This immediately causes the rest of the community to isolate that person , the mythology and fear structure around this act of sorcery would quickly do the rest . The only chance this person would have is if he could convince me or employ a more powerful sorcerer to reverse the deed.

Very interesting of course , but most of us in the western world don't live within this belief structure . However what I have just described happens all the time in the modern world , even more so with the advances in communication technology. Instead of a hammer and a nail , we have the media, text messages , emails and our almost but not quite superseded verbal capacities.

Gossip, lies , innuendo and bitchiness the poisons of the modern sorcerer, used artfully to socially alienate those who are our perceived adversaries . Never before in the history of mankind has sorcery been used on the scale that it is now . From politicians, corporate business down to school children texing in the playground , what harm we are doing to each other and to ourselves . It has become an excepted part of our everyday life and most of us are unconscious of it .

Maybe its time we all tried a bit harder , when we catch ourselves playing the sorcerer , turn it around and try being a healer instead . Its much more rewarding seeing a happy face then a defeated one.

My apologies to the Bush administration and to the polar bears, I have also been guilty of a bit of Sorcery of late.
