Most people depend on visual cues to help them remember where they put things or things they need to do. Here are ten things you can do to help you get motivated.
- Place a sign in the places where you look the most. (On the door of the bathroom; close the door & place your sign.).
- Notes inside of cabinets are a good place for reminders of refills for medicines, stuff that is inside of the cabinet, or emergency numbers
- Sticky notes on the computer for bills to be paid
- Things to take list on the inside of the front door, so you can make sure you have everything you need before you go out the door
- A sheet of paper above the sun shade above your head. (It contains dates for oil changed, ect. and numbers for emergencies)
- A large list of night things before going to bed, that is placed on the inside of the bedroom door
- A rewritable (dry erase board) list for inside of the laundry room
- A rewritable (dry erase board) list for beside the kitchen doorway. (For notes of where you're going so everyone has an idea of where you are!)
- A memo pad next to your phones for those ideas, numbers you must have or just for doodling
- Your hand when you have no paper close by
Visual cues can also be things like colors, or objects that we are familiar with. We sometimes associate the everyday items we use with other things that are surrounding them.
Like your car keys maybe are always put onto the coffee table. When you look at the coffee table you think of your keys!
Good luck!
