How to Know What Really Happened During Desert Storm

I recently interviewed a friend who served in the Army for nine months during Operation Desert Storm as a Chemical Weapons Specialist in the Decontamination Unit. Read on to find out what happened during Desert Storm and how that war started our current war in Iraq.

I recently interviewed a friend who served in the Army for nine months during Operation Desert Storm as a Chemical Weapons Specialist in the Decontamination Unit. Read on to find out what happened during Desert Storm and how that war started our current war in Iraq.

What you need:

  • An appreciation for military history
  • A veteran to say thank you to
  • A willingness to help a veteran in need of assistance

Step One

When General McCafree had the biggest ground forces in Iraq is the time that we are talking about. Bosnia Iraq is where this current war started in Iraq when Desert Storm ended and it is still going on today.

Step Two

Barry had to go to the middle of nowhere to find water so that the soldiers could take a shower every day. This was in 200 degree weather as he was stationed in Saudi Arabia.

Step Three

When the first war was over and they were blowing up the bunkers and stuff they found Iraqi money. Saddam Hussein was paying his soldiers in counterfeit Iraq money!

Step Four

Bush pulled out and ended Desert Storm because if we stayed there fighting one more day, we would have taken over their whole country and that was not the goal. The goal was just to go in fix the problem and get out of there.

Step Five

The female soldiers hated being outside in the sand at 200 degrees outside.

Step Six

Everybody liked and then sometimes complained about the Meals Ready to Eat or MRE's that they had to eat which makes sense since there were no Mc Donald's or anything like that nearby they were at war!

Step Seven

The women soldiers tried to get pregnant so that they wouldn't have to stay there.

Step Eight

Saudi Arabia was hot during the day and freezing cold at night.

Step Nine

All around you, you could see the blown up planes, animals, trucks and tanks that were blown up.

Step Ten

On August 2, 1990 he said Iraq invaded Kuwait and in February 1991 it ended. Operation Desert Storm started August 2 and ended Jan 17th.

Step Eleven

When the soldiers came back, they came back to a heroes welcome but they came home to chaos. A lot of soldiers went mental when they realized that their wives had been screwing around and that drove a lot of soliders mad too.

Step Twelve

This war has been going on since 1992 and the scary part is that it's not going to end if Obama or McCain get into the White House in November.

Step Thirteen

Think about it. The Bush family has oil wells in Saudi Arabia. That is why the troops couldn't just rush in and take over Saudi Arabia. You see, for the Bush family, money is changing hands all the time.

Step Thirteen

If you know of a soldier that is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PSTD please tell them to go to the Department of Veterans Affairs and get help. This information is for a soldier that lives on Long Island but you can research in the phone book for Veterans Affairs in your area.

Your temperature is very much exaggerated. Aside from that it is common knowledge that Bush has had friendlier dealings with Saddam before the war started and that he supplied the military too with weaponry. He has recently been referring to the country as part of an evil axis. So what galls me is his duplicity before and after the current conflict.
Soldiers like yourself are now required to go back to continue propping up corruption, which is a great pity especially since many have already been exposed to trauma. There is no end in sight, that is sure and the selection of candidates is poor with an ailing hero and a governor who would be all to happy to become the next leader should he pass away while in office.
I can appreciate your involvement to restore order but have no appreciation whatsoever for the blatant ignorance that has covered up the sorrowful dealings behind the continued involvement in the Middle East and Southern Asia.
