Is There a UFO Base in Britain?

More than 50 positive sightings of UFOs have taken place in an area known as “The Welsh Triangle” in Great Britain. For reasons no one can fathom, alien beings have selected this area to use as a base for landings and departures. And all this alien activity has scared the wits out of local residents.

The UFO activity is concentrated in a specific area of Wales. This triangular-shaped spot is bounded by Cardigan Bay to the West, and the Bristol Channel to the South. All of the extraterrestrial appearances have been mapped within this area, with Mid-Wales as the eastern limit.

Scientists are baffled by the weird goings-on, and theorize that the creatures from outer space are observing the local residents. They fear the day the eerie visitors may decide to use them as guinea pigs for their bizarre research.

At first, expert thoughts the mysterious visitors were spying on the many defense installations in this area of Wales. Because, within a tight radius, there are the Royal Aircraft Missile Range, a missile testing ground, air corridors for supersonic low-flying jets, and an American submarine tracking station.

But, according to the spokesmen at the defense operations bases, most of the extraterrestrial sightings have actually occurred outside the installations.

Sights such as the one which terrified Billy and Pauline Coombs still baffle scientists. The couple were just preparing to go up to bed. It was one a.m. As they stood to leave the front room of their isolated farm cottage, Pauline happened to glance outside.

The astonished woman was too terrified to scream. On the other side of the window pane towered an eerie, silver-suited figure. She claims he was at least seven feet tall. Upon hearing her gasp, her husband whipped around and saw the monstrous outline. “Good God! What the hell's that?” he yelled in horror.

They were stunned to realize there was no face inside the shiny helmet - just a blank, dark void. The trembling couple phoned the police. But by the time they arrived, whatever it was had disappeared without a trace.

A neighboring farmer, Richard Hewison, rushed over as soon as he got the anguished couple's call. “They were genuinely terrified.” He said. “They were frightened out of their wits!”

When she had recovered slightly from her horrible shock, Pauline recalled their dog's bizarre behavior. “He usually barks at the slightest noise,” she said in puzzlement. “But he just crept around very nervous, whimpering. He won't even go out of the house.”

The Coomb's visitation was the first of many other wordly sightings in that wild stretch of Wales. Only days later, Richard Hewison's wife Josephine reported seeing the spaceship. The agricultural student looked out her bedroom window and jumped when she spied the 50-foot-wide silver-gray craft parked beside her greenhouse.

“It was as high as a double-decker bus. There were no visible windows or openings. She said breathlessly. “It stood there for ten minutes then took off. It did not leave any marks. Not even a broken twig!”

Matronly Dora Easton had one of the strangest reactions following her close encounter. “I was out for my after-tea stroll,” she said, in her lilting accent. “When out of the sky came this brilliant beam of yellow light. It was aimed right at me.”

The startled head of the local flower club was thrilled by what happened next: all symptoms of her arthritis mysteriously vanished!”

“Whatever was in that warm beam cured me completely! I think I'll take up croquet, she said.

Artist John Petts, 62, was painting in his studio near Carmarthen when he spotted a brilliant light in the sky. “It was a cigar-shaped object. One minute it was there, the next gone,” he said.

Fourteen grade school students in Broadhaven saw a strange object in a field 200 yards from the playground. The principal asked them to draw what they saw. The finished pictures were all remarkably similar.

“I don't believe that kids this age could sustain a hoax of this nature,” he concluded, “-they must have seen something.”

Teenager Stephen Taylor of Haverfordwest seems to have come the closest to meeting a being such as the one which terrified the Coombs. He was walking home one moonlit evening when he noticed a black shape on the road in front of him. He gave this eyewitness report:

“It looked about 40 to 50 feet across. I could see a dim glow around what looked like the underside,” he said. “All of a sudden, this figure popped up - right next to me! I was scared to death. The thing was dressed all in silver. It seemed to have high, pointy cheekbones. Its eyes were like fish eyes,” he continued breathlessly, completely round and bulgy. I took a swing at it. I don't know whether I hit it. Then I ran the three miles home.”

Dozens of reports have been flooding the offices of the UFO Research Association. Expert Randall Pugh said the shock of coming across the aliens has affected all in the same way. “People who encounter these phenomena suffer severe headaches, trembling and sleeplessness,” he explained.

It's no wonder the residents of the Welsh Triangle are nervous and jittery. They believe they have been single out for surveillance by beings from another planet!

One day in 1961 when I was visiting friends in North Cornwall I say a similar sight to one of those mentioned here. Between the cliffs and quite low over the sea there was a silver cigar-shaped object which flew slowly and noislessly past. It has never been explained, although it happened in broad daylight.
