Back in the fifty's a group of scientists did an experiment where they took a bunch of people and showed a film to them, then they flashed: Buy Coke "a" Cola for a split second on the screen. The result was significantly more people bought Coke, then any other drink, but this was probably because more people like Coke.
Then there was a man that owned a cinema and he flashed: Buy popcorn and buy Coke, on the screen for a split second, the result was a 56% increase in Coke sales, and 18% increase in popcorn sales. It turned out to be a hoax, but no one has been able to reproduce the sales increase.
Then there are the catchy little songs you see in ads, that we might find our self singing, which reminds us of the product. There's no doubt that advertising saturation works, but people aren't stupid and aren't going to buy something just because they see it advertised everywhere, but if something's new people might like to try it, and that's why companies are always bringing out new products.
I watched a show on TV that said some ads on TV have a high frequency sound in them that grab your attention, and is inaudible to most people.
You may have noticed this, when your watching TV and the ads are on, and your not really watching it maybe talking to some one or something and all of a sudden your attention turns to the TV even though it's just a stupid ad.
I watched another show on cable that said the US Army has the technology to broadcast fear and relax waves into TV and radio that cause either fear or relaxation, and they do this out of a special plane.
`They even have the technology to take over TV and radio and broadcast whatever they want. They use this in countries that have terrorists in them. What they do is, fly over the country and broadcast the fear waves, and then broadcast a message saying the fear you are feeling is because of this terrorists and if you want it to stop, tell the US army where they are.
Would you be able to get me more facts in detail about this stuff its really cool :)
