It looks like a normal house from the outside, but it's actually a haunted house. It was built back during the civil war and was used as part of the Underground Railroad. Eventually the house was abandoned .Then in 1996, it was completely renovated. And a family moved into this haunted house. They had no idea of all the ghostly activity the 3 daughters would soon be experiencing.
At night, outside the door of the 3rd bedroom, the figure of a young girl was repeatedly seen. She would call out for her cat a few times before she would vanish. Occasionally the ghost of the cat would be seen running to the young girl. The girl is wearing a long skirt that expands out and a wide brimmed hat. Her clothes suggest she lived and died during civil war times. It is not know why this girl died or why her cat died.
In the living room, by the west window, the ghost of a young woman has been seen a few times. This woman is in a sitting position. There must have been a couch or chair placed there a long time ago. She looks up the stairs and then simply disappears. Her hair is very old fashioned with long ring curls. She also wears a bonnet and a long flowing skirt like the young girl who haunts upstairs.
The basement was used to hide the runaway slaves. During the reconstruction, a room was discovered and half of the wall was removed to make a door. This room is thought to be the hiding place of the slaves. A ghost of a slave has been seen in this room. He takes a few steps, stops, turns around, takes a few more steps and then fades away.
There have been footsteps heard in the small attic. The only entrance to the attic is in the third bedroom's closet's ceiling. No one can easily get into the attic without a ladder. And no one ever went into the attic, they had no reason to. Also, when the eldest daughter was home, she heard a voice actually calling her name from upstairs. No one else has had this happen to them. Later on the oldest daughter moved into the master bedroom. One night she woke up feeling someone sitting on her bed. She reached out to touch who ever it was sitting there but no one was there. Then she felt like someone was holding her down and she couldn't move. After a minute or two, she felt the pressure of the unseen hands let go of her. This has only occurred once.
The middle daughter moved into the third bedroom when the eldest moved out of it. She had a more terrifying experience. She was woken up by her bed shaking violently. The next night the same thing happened. And on the third night, she swears she saw a man. The man walked threw her dresser and then her bed began to shake yet again. This time her bed frame broke from the shaking.
There's also something in the kitchen. It likes to move random objects. While someone was washing dishes or cooking food, the plates and bowls move all by themselves. Some things have completely vanished. And they will turn up the next day in a different area then where it was left.
No more haunting has been reported. The 2 older girls moved at when they turned 18. Then in 2007, the family still living there was evicted due to foreclosure on the house. It has been empty since.
